Power Mac G5 (early 2005) - 2.7GHz DP Logic Board (Refurb)
Select this part if you have an 2.7 GHz PowerMac G5 (Model A1047, Early 2005) which needs a replacement logic board. The part does not include the 2.7 GHz DP processor (available separately).
PMG5 Logic Board
How It Works:
60 days part exchange warranty. If the part fails during this period it will be replaced with a 'like' part. There is no refund option.
: A Power Mac G5’s cooling systems must be re-calibrated immediately following the installation of a new logic board or processor. Without calibration thermal sensors will no longer work correctly, fans will run at high-speed (“race”) and the logic board and/or processor may be damaged.
Apple Service Diagnostic for Power Mac G5 (ASD v 2.5.8 or later)
is required to thermally recalibrate the computer. But, problematically, only Apple’s own authorized channels were given access to ASD, and then under a licensing agreement which prohibited sale of the software to the general public. Consequently ASD software can be difficult to find: an online search is probably the best launch point for locating it.
