most parts are specific to particular iBook models you
need to know precisely which model you own. The easiest
way to determine this is to follow these guidelines:
1.
Locate your iBook's Family Number.
2. Locate the Factory Configuration label.
3. Use the information gathered from the first two steps
to identify your iBook
4.
Select the part you need using the OPTIONS pulldown menu
(top right).
1.

is simple : it is printed on the bottom case, and will

or M2453. Make a note of your iBook's Family Number.
2.
Locating the Factory Configuration Label.
The original factory configuration of your iBook is printed
on a label located on the case just above where the Airport
card fits. The keyboard must be lifted up before the label
can be read. To remove your keyboard, follow the instructions
in the Apple User Guide which came with your iBook. If
you don't have your User Guide, a copy can be downloaded
from Apple's website.
The
label will look like this:
The
Factory Configuration of your iBook is printed
at the bottom of the label. The processor speed is listed
first, followed by the amount of pre-installed RAM, the
size of the HD and the type of optical drive. Make
a note of your iBook's configuration.
