Identify your PowerMac G4:

Use the following guidelines to determine which model G4 you own, then use the OPTIONS menu (top right) to find the part you need.
STEP 1:
Locate the Serial No/Factory Configuration label at the back of the computer ::

The factory configuration of your computer is printed below the Ethernet ID number.

STEP 2:
Write down the factory configuration of your computer exactly as it appears on the label. The Processor Speed appears as the first item in the configuration list.

STEP 3:
Next, select the matching processor speed from the list below:

PowerMac G4 - 350 MHz

There are two 350MHz options:

You can determine which model you have by checking the orientation of the sound ports at the back of the computer.

If they are aligned vertically
you have an AGP Graphics G4
(AGP).

If they are aligned horizontally
you have a PCI Graphics G4
(PCI).

Power Mac G4 - 400 MHz

There are three 400MHz options.

You can determine which model you have by first checking the orientation of the sound ports at the back of the computer.

If they are aligned horizontally
you have a PCI Graphics G4
(PCI).

If they are aligned vertically and the label includes “1000BT” in the factory configuration listing,
you have a Gigabit Ethernet G4
(GIG).

If they are aligned vertically and the label does NOT include “1000BT” in the factory configuration listing, you have an AGP Graphics G4 (AGP).

Power Mac G4 - 450 MHz and 500MHz

There are two versions for each of these processor speeds.

If your configuration label includes “1000BT”, you have a Gigabit Ethernet G4 (GIG).

Otherwise you have an AGP Graphics G4 (AGP).

PowerMac G4 - 466MHz, 533MHz, and 667MHz
You have a Digital Audio G4 (DIG).

PowerMac G4 - 733 MHz

There are two 733 MHz Power Mac G4 Models.

If your factory configuration label includes a 60GB HD and a DVD-R/CD-RW drive,
you have a Digital Audio G4
(DIG).

If your factory configuration label includes a 40GB HD and a CD-RW drive,
you have a QuickSilver
G4
(QS).

PowerMac G4 - 800 MHz

There are two 800 MHz Power Mac G4 Models.

If your label includes “DP”, you have a dual processor QuickSilver G4 (QS).

Otherwise, you have a single processor QuickSilver 2002 G4 (QS02).

PowerMac G4 - 867 MHz

There are two 867 MHz Power Mac G4 Models.

If your label includes “DP”, you have a dual processor Mirrored Drive Doors G4 (MDD).

Otherwise, you have a single processor QuickSilver G4 (QS).

PowerMac G4 - 933 MHz
You have a QuickSilver 2002 G4 (QS02).

PowerMac G4 - 1 GHz

There are three 1GHz Power Mac G4 Models.

If your factory configuration label includes “DP” and the front of your computer does NOT look like the picture on the right, you have a dual processor QuickSilver 2002 G4 (QS02).

If the front of your computer looks like the picture on the right and:

. . the factory label includes “DP” you have a dual processor Mirrored Drive Doors G4 (MDD).

. . the factory label does not include“DP” you have a single processor FireWire 800 G4 (FW800).
