The MacBook was introduced May 2006, replacing the iBook during Apple's six month transition to Intel processors. Since then it has become the best selling Macintosh in Apple history.
Designs have changed from white & black polycarbonate, to a unibody aluminum, to a unibody white polycarbonate, the screen however has remained a 13.3" glossy widescreen LCD.
MacBook1,1 came with Intel Core Duo the rest have come with Intel Core 2 Duo processors, with speeds ranging from 1.8GHz, to 2.4GHz. 
Optional hard drive upgrades range from 100GB to 500GB depending on the machine.
RAM can be upgraded to either 2GB or 4GB depending on model.

Ways to identify your Mac and the parts associated with it:

• Your computer's Model Identifier and Serial Number are to be found in the Hardware Overview section of System Profiler.
• Apple Model Numbers are listed on the sales invoice and printed on the computer's shipping box.
• Mfg. ID Numbers are printed on the part itself.
• EEE Code click on the "what's this?" link located by the EEE field name on each product's listing page..
